art::ip

Immersive Performance. The next-generation spatial audio engine for object-based mixing and 3D positioning.

Art::ip

what it does

The Stage

Immersive Performance, Not Immersive Playback

Our patent-pending immersive renderer is designed specifically for the rigors of live performance. Most immersive systems fill a room with sound. ART::IP builds a place for that sound to live. Every performer, every effect, every spatial cue is tracked and positioned in real three-dimensional space — so the audience isn't just surrounded by audio, they're inside a world that moves the way the performance moves.

Why we call it ART::IP

  • True to the Performance — every source, performer or effect, is tracked and placed with real spatial accuracy, not approximated by panning between speakers.

  • Object-Based, Not Channel-Based — ART::IP thinks in objects moving through 3D space, not fixed output channels, so a single sound travels naturally through the entire venue as the performance demands.

  • Every Seat, the Same Show — multi-zone processing calculates the immersive field independently for every audience zone, so the balcony hears the same precision as the stalls.

One engine, infinite venues. ART::IP turns the physical geometry of a room into a canvas — where a performer's every move has a place in space, and every seat in the house gets the same story.

specifications

System Integration

  • Runs on the ART::DSP engine, controlled through ART::Director

Performer Sound Localization

  • Audience-Wide Accuracy — consistent localization of the sound source across every seat, with no dependency on a "sweet spot"

  • Performer localization using the Precedence Effect (delay-based)

  • Performer and spatial source types, for a complete 3D venue workflow

Multi-Zone Processing

  • Multi-Zone Immersive Processing — optimizes gain and spatial coverage across complex loudspeaker systems, with fully automated Precedence or Minimum-Delay mode

  • Immersive audio calculated individually for each audience zone — consistent experience across stalls, balconies, and under-balcony seating

Virtual Surround Sound

  • Immersive Layout Simulation — supports virtual setups including 5.1, 7.1.4, or other configurations, delivering cinema-quality soundscapes

Venue Visualization & Placement

  • 3D Venue Visualization — import EASE loudspeaker tables or CAD models to build an accurate 3D representation of the venue

  • True eye-to-ear localization perspective

  • Drag-and-drop source placement with precise coordinate input

Control & Integration

  • Integration with Q-Sys, QLab, Grapes, Spat-AI, and a range of mixing consoles and media control systems

  • OSC control of position, size, and algorithm

  • Proprietary plugin for source control, compatible with all DAWs

Spatial Panning Algorithms

  • Amadeus Wavefield Panning — precise delay- and amplitude-based panning for immersive spatial audio

  • Amadeus Amplitude Panning — amplitude-based panning without delay, for immersive spatial audio

Dynamic Movements

  • Smooth Motion Control — delay interpolation enables fluid sound movement; algorithms automatically optimize for different movement speeds, avoiding artifacts even with singers and other sensitive sources

  • Customizable Focus — target individual or multiple loudspeakers to adjust sound width and blur for tailored audio projection

Enhanced 3D Bass Management

  • Optimizes clarity and impact of low frequencies — time-aligned and automatically managed based on source position

Scene & Preset Control

  • Snapshots with cross-fades

  • Spatial fade in and fade out zones

A Note on Versions

ART::IP comes in two versions. ART::IP v1 runs alongside ART::AP on ART::Hub 2 (Performance v1) for venues that need Active Acoustics and Immersive Sound together. ART::IP v2 — the multi-zone engine described throughout this page — runs exclusively on ART::Hub 2 (Performance v2), dedicating the full system to immersive sound alone. See the ART::Hub 2 page for the full comparison.

Brand agnostic and built to fit an existing rack. See the full list on the Integrations page →
